AMA Recap: Colizeum x Infinite Launch

AMA Recap: Colizeum x Infinite Launch
We would like to express our gratitude towards those who joined the AMA on 26th Feb 2022 in the Infinite Launch Telegram group. We appreciate all your support. This is a recap of the entire session, in case you missed it!

Our AMA with Colizeum comprises of 3 main sections:

1.       5 basic questions from the host to give a brief introduction about the project.

2.       4 questions from community members on Twitter.

3.       Live AMA: 5 random questions from our community.

1st Segment: QUESTIONS FROM HOST

Q1. Could you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your team? What are your past experiences?

Sure

I'm Edgars Vecozolins, the co-founder of Colizeum.

Me & the team have been in gaming development for more than 8 years already. In those 8 years we have published countless mobile games across different genres

One of the achievements is our mobile game Dystopia: Contest of Heroes, we managed to get 1 000 000 downloads for it in less than 8 months 🙂

Right now we are a 35+ large team of game, blockchain, frontend/backend developers, 3D & concept artists, sound engineers, marketing specialists, business developers, etc.

Basically the whole package

And right now we are building the tools for other game developers to build blockchain-based/tokenised games 🙂

Q2. Let’s give the audience a brief description of what Colizeum is? How did you come up with the idea of Colizeum? Is it influenced by any special moment or story?

Okaaay. This will probably be very long answer 😄

Colizeum is a set of dApps that helps game developers to create blockchain-based tokenised games and provide the necessary tools so they wouldn’t have deal with other 3rd party service providers that charge exuberant fees.

For players we are the blockchain gaming appstore & NFT marketplace.

The idea of COLIZEUM originated amongst several game developers when they were facing never-ending and unjustified difficulties while launching mobile games.

Basically we did all the hard work so that game developers can just skip the research, development, hiring blockchain team so on and on.

We packaged these tools into a SDK (software development kit).

By implementing the SDK game developers easily (without prior knowledge about blockchain development!) create P2E games. This saves them 10-12 months of development time and a lot of money.

The development process was not so challenging as dealing with app stores, entering different markets, and monetizing developed games.

The traditional appstore policies could (and did!) change so abruptly that developers' marketing and revenue plans could change in one day. It all did not look sustainable and convincing.

Also, the unmonetizable Tier 3 markets which are 3x bigger than Tier 1 and Tier 2 altogether combined with the emerging Play-To-Earn model lead to the decision to figure a solution to game developer problems.

And voila! Colizeum was born 🙂

Q3. Could you share with us the current development stage of Colizeum?

The development process is going great. We are planning to launch Colizeum SDK Beta in late May, early June.

Here are the things we have done and are currently working on in Development department:

December:

* Infrastructure planning and development — Always ongoing

* Smart Contract scaffolding — DONE

January:

* Developer staking smart contract development — DONE

* First season smart contract development — 90% DONE

* Web portal development started — 25% DONE

* Web3 provider implementation on portal — 85% DONE

* Automated testing support (QA) — 65% DONE

February:

* First season implementation on Colizeum web portal — 50% DONE

* Colizeum portal designs — In progress

* NFT development — In progress

* Blockchain task automation — 80% DONE

At first we had the research & planning phase, that took several months. We had to be sure that everything we do is beneficial, thought through and sustainable.

Q4. What are the competitive advantages of Colizeum compared to its competitors? How do you plan to differentiate Colizeum?

There are competitors, of course, but we haven’t seen the “all-in-one” package that is super easy to use.

Our difference is that we are focused on the mobile game market — players & developers.

Most gaming projects are creating individual games or metaverses, betting on single game success. We are developing the fundamental basis for blockchain mobile games, so that any developer can jump into crypto world.

Our “all-in-one” dApp package (SDK) and our dual-token economy takes care of the blockchain part, so that game developers can focus only on the game development and game design.

Another crucial difference is that players will only need one entry ticket to all the games with our “Player Card” NFT.

Also, since we have a unified economy that will be used across all games, players won’t need to buy each game token.

In short - the key difference is simplicity, significantly reducing time-market for game devs and one ecosystem for both - player and developers.

Q5. Please provide a detailed overview of the token $ZEUM, what are its use cases and tokenomics? How can we buy your token?

Every aspect of Colizeum is tied together with its economy— $ZEUM, ever-increasing token demand without new investor inflow. This aspect is important for any healthy economy.

As in every sustainable Play-To-Earn economy there is always an entry ticket. For Colizeum players will need to acquire a “Player Card” — an NFT. One card will give the player an access to every game inside the ecosystem.

Any new player which comes to Colizeum is also bringing its' attention which has monetization potential for game developers.

But in order for game developers being able to monetize this new player attention they have to have $ZEUM staked in the platform.

In simple words all that translates to — every new player and game in the platform is increasing internal demand for $ZEUM token.

About buying ZEUM tokens.

We are having IDO launch on 28th of February in infinitelaunch.io 🙂

At TGE you will be able to buy tokens from DEX - pancakeswap, uniswap and CEX - MEXC and Gate.

And here’s a IDO schedule:

1. InfiniteLaunch - Feb 28th

2. GameStarter - March 3rd

3. TrustPad - March 8th

$ZEUM token is the backbone for the whole Play-To-Earn economy.

- Players & game developers will need $ZEUM tokens to mint their first NFTs

- Game developers will be able to stake $ZEUM tokens to increase their income and also $ZEUM tokens will be utilised for the governance.

So that I don't have to recite the whole documentation about ZEUM utility, it is easier to understand the concept (with images :D) in our whitepaper, we tried to explain it as simple as we could - https://colizeum.com/docs/WP_1.4.pdf

2nd Segment: QUESTIONS FROM TWITTER

Q1. All the goals of your project are absolutely great, but one of the main factors users are looking for in the crypto project is the use cases of the token? So what are the Use cases of #Colizeum in your platform? What are your plan to increase the adoption of #Colizeum?

The main adoption driver will be the games themselves.

Traditional mobile gaming market is somewhere around $90Bn large — 52% from the total gaming market.

Yes mobile gaming is larger than consoles and PC gaming combined. And there are a couple of BILLION mobile gamers around the world. Safe to say that we are very early in blockchain gaming 🙂

With that comes a lot of game developers, with game developers come games, with games comes players.

If we do our job well, we will be the ones who paved the way for thousands of games and millions of players.

The use case I believe was answered in more detail in the previous questions.

Q2. Traditionally, mobile game developers earn from in-app purchases and ads, however, the vast majority of these profits are significantly cut by the app store and ad network fees. What solution has Colizeum developed to help increase these game developers earnings significantly?

In the traditional gaming market, game developers, as you said, are using different types of monetization models. Each monetization has their own middlemen who take a huge cut form the developers revenue.

For example, if the game has in-app ads. The ad networks are keeping the most of the earned revenue to themselves. Traditional app stores charge 30% from EVERY sale. And the User acquisition costs have been doubling every year.

Game devs are stuck into this flawed world and can’t see their way out and pay their bills.

We solve this by providing those tools and opportunities to developers without charging them the drastic fees. We actually have a flexible and dynamic fee structure, which doesn't go above 4%.

Also, with blockchain-based Play-To-Earn, NFTs, etc. now game developers will have new monetization models to add on top of the existing ones. This means they can continue to monetize the non-crypto players AND blockchain players at the same time.

With all of this, the opportunity to finally monetize and scale in Tier 3 markets plays a large role — more revenue generating players.

Q3. It's stated that game developers are deprived from any share of massive derivative markets (such as betting) that flourish around gaming. How then do new game developers earn $ZEUM tokens passively? Also what other activities can game developers engage in to earn tokens?

Exactly. Skill-based games in the last 2 years had an insane growth. But with the existing monetization models they cannot be very profitable. The existing tools/system are too slow and too expensive for the players — payout takes even months (don’t know way they are taking so long) and they are charging players a lot of money.

Besides in-game monetization we provide game devs and players an option to earn by providing completely new monetization layers — prediction market, NFT marketplace, enabling 3rd parties to host tournaments, etc. That means game developers will generate revenue outside the game.

To sum up, the game developers and players will be able to earn from the game itself and outside the game. As an example, would be - streamers. Right now the streamers and game devs have to go through onboarding, briefing, planning process, manual setup etc. With Colizeum tools, streamers and other content creators can just generate their referral code inside the game - without talking to developers, create content and receive their revenue share or other type of rewards (depends per developer).

By minting in-game assets as NFTs, game devs will finally earn from the secondary market sales.

Tournament SDK module allows game devs to add multiplayer modes to any game — tournament modes.

Again, game developers will be able to allow anyone to host tournaments in their game. Again, the streamer can host a tournament with prize pools given by a sponsor - all of that without developer involvement in the process.

When the tournament finishes, developers receive its' % from the total prize pool.

In all of this, the game dev can choose the fee structure - how much each of the party earns.

I hope I managed to answer the question 🙂

Q4. Colizeum provides Attention Widgets. Can you explain in detail what these widgets are and how they bring about monetization of mobile games on Colezium platform?

Attention widget is the possibility to place ad banners inside your game/app.

This allows you to earn from showing ads and drive traffic to your own game.

Right now the user acquisition (driving traffic to your game) is unsustainable. Major game publishers are buying out the ad inventory and small developers can't get the traction.

Another problem is that major ad networks have strict policies against blockchain market and games. For some reason they don't like this market.

With Attention marketplace we are solving the UA problem by providing blockchain games an opportunity to scale their player base and earn extra revenue inflow.

Existing ad networks charge abnormal fees — Colizeum reduces the costs to bare minimum.

This makes it interesting for game developers to finally focus on Tier 3 markets, because now they will be able to generate revenue.

Q5. It caught my attention that you are planning to release the public beta. can you tell us how we can contribute to it as Beta Testers? Is there a way to try it out at the beta stage and are there any requirements for it?

With Public Beta comes more games 🙂 You will be able to play the games early on and provide your feedback — making the game and Colizeum better

Nothing much more to add to this question 😄

3rd Segment: QUESTIONS FROM GROUP

Q1. What are your top 3 things for priorities in 2022? Could you share some plans for the upcoming year?

1. IDO/TGE, of course

2. Genesis NFT PLayer Card drop

3. SDK Beta launch

4. Onboard game developers

Q2. For project development, all main priority is having enough funds. Does your team financially capable to run this project? Do you have enough funds for its development? Can you tell us how your project generates the profit?

We raised $8.4m in seed and private round. We have all the resources to develop the product and continue to improve for years to come 🙂

More info about the fundraising can be found here https://medium.com/@colizeum/colizeum-raises-8-4m-from-renowned-investors-welcomes-dota-legend-sheng-wu-1b72e17492ac

Q3. Do you have any plans to attract non-crypto investors to join your project? Because the success of a project attracts more investors who haven't yet entered the crypto world. What are the plans to raise awareness about your project in the non-crypto space.

We will be launching education materials that will have all the info needed to learn every aspect of blockchain game development.

Huge roles for converting non-crypto players will play the games themselves.

As I explained previously, we provide the best and simplest way to make blockchain games, that means more game developers will be able to jump on board. More games - more players 🙂

Q4. Almost 4/5 of investors are focused purely on the price of the token in the short term instead of understanding the real value and health of the project. Could you tell us the motivations and benefits for investors to hold your token in the long term?

That's true.

We will provide staking options for investors.

But the main reason to hodl is the potential and understanding how early we are in crypto.

Colizeum is solving the biggest gaming market problems. One game alone can bring millions of players to the Colizeum ecosystem.

We are already talking with major game publishers that are willing to convert multiple games to blockchain-based games 🙂

Q5. Do you guys feel satisfied by seeing your progress and achievements till now, when you look back to the day when you started this project?

Yes, very satisfied. We have been in developing the product for 7+ months and the process is going smoothly 🙂 Still long way to go, but yes, we are happy 🙂
